ANDURAS SurfProtect is a PHP application that can be used for virus-scanning withing the application-layer (ISO/OSI). Either http and ftp-downloads are supported.

It can be installed within a proxy server (e.g. squid) to secure a network against downloads of virus-infected files.

It uses the CURL Module for the actual download process and has the capability to show the progress within a download bar. Several Virus Scanner can be used.

Be aware that most of the viruses come from people using web based email accounts and downloading the infected attachments to their machines or through downloading junk!
